Hello all, I've been listening to the show for around a year, and love the fact that it's totally different to most other shows, it's the show that really does it for me. However I've lately been banned from downloading at work, and can't really afford to get the internet at home, but I have a cunning plan. A couple of months ago I bought the Sony Ericsson C905, so as I could download podcasts. Unfortunately I can't download Solaris, though I can see when a new episode's been uploaded, which is really frustrating. I am able to download shows like TATW, Air up There, Tytanium Sessions, Subculture and Digital Society Sessions. It's something to do with how the show's downloaded. If it's something that could be easily changed, it'd make me a very happy raver.

Can you tell us the error you receive when trying to download the podcasts?

It's not an error, there's just no download button, unlike the other podcasts.

Yep, that's the one I'm using. It might be something to do with Flash.

@Daniel: are you using Media Go? I doubt it has something to do with Flash since no flash is used on the website posted above. Did you install the latest phonesoftware update?

solution for now, buy a real phone! like an iphone

Other podcasts that don't work are the Freesoup one and the SWAPcast. I think it's something to do with the xml linking directly to an MP3 download, I'll have a look at what Sony Ericsson said.

I'm just using the native rss reader.

Buy an iPhone, and, until recently, not be able to take videos when out clubbing? Like the awesome video I have of Orbital at Global Gathering this year, or some I have from Ibiza and Armin nights this year, no way.

I checked with Sony Ericsson three months ago or so, as I was having problems downloading - due to my interent settings - I'm definitley using the latest firmware. I forgot to look through my emails on Friday, as it was hectic, but I know initially Sony Ericsson tried downloading the podcasts that I was trying to download. On Monday morning I'll see what problem they gave for Solaris not downloading.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm still not able to download. Could it be something to do with the .xml being part of the Solarstone site, but the mp3 file being hosted by the Solaris Recordings site? As my phone is only displaying the options to send the .xml link or to look at the web page for the podcast: http://www.solarstone.co.uk/radio/, which is on the Solarstone site. Maybe it can't see it as it's not on the Solarstone site, as that's where it thinks it'll be?

this remains an issue. makes it very hard to subscribe without using itunes which I really dislike. google reader also only links to the main site not to a download-able file. any progress? I imagine feedburner or libsyn could be used to create a usable alternate feed. can't listen at all from android 2.1 without involving itunes and a computer.

I think there was a typo in the URL?

Anyone, same issue for me still exists here. When I try and subscribe to the podcast, say in Google Reader, but also on my Android phone, the link is not to the mp3/m4a/mp4 file but instead to the website root. See screenshot:
